This is my first post to the community. So, ummm, hello. ;-)
I read this spoiler on one of the AI message boards regarding the guys dress rehearsals yesterday. Some of you may have already seen it but I decided to just go for it and post it here.
I don't know if this is true or not but I found it interesting and I think you will too. Joe's review is all the way at the bottom. Squeeeee!
hi! i was lucky enough to get 2 tickets to the boys dress rehearsal today and i had a ton of fun (except for the 3 hour wait outside lol). it was supposed to start at 1:30, but was delayed about 20 minutes due to some sound problems (or at least that is what the person behind me said). here is a recap of how everyone did in the order that they sang. i tried to make it as objective as possible.
anwar robinson - "signed, sealed, delivered" - it was good enough to stay at least another week...he worked the crowd well...i was slightly destracted by his hideous outfit...not as good as fantasia's rendition, but he can definitely sing
bo bice - "american pie" - he has so much passion and it really showed in his performance...started out a little too slow but once he got to the chorus it was amazing
mario vazquez - "how sweet it is" - good performer, but his voice sounded horrible on the song...he has so many fans though that it shouldn't hurt it that much...oh during the song his fat fell off....thankfully it was only a dress rehearsal hahaha
nikko smith - "i'll be there" - this guy is better than the jackson 5! my favorite performance...he is just so smooth lol...rather than impersonating the artist like i felt he did last week, he really made this song his own
scott savol - "my girl" - he gets the award for the most boring performance of the night, his voice sounds ok, but he is not an exciting performer...a very safe song choice
constantine maroulis - "when i see you smile" - a lot better than his performance last week! following scott definitely helped him because whereas scott was just so boring, constantine had my attention the whole time. i hope he sticks around for a little while longer
travis tucker - "for once in my life" - he is the best looking of the bunch and his performance was also a lot better than last week. he worked the crowd with his moves and very pure voice. this guy really has the whole package and i think the judges and america will like his performance this time around.
anthony fedorov - "i'll be" - similar performance to last week...good vocals (except his voice fell flat at certain points), but he stands still the whole time...it was VERY forgettable
david brown - "let's stay together" - last week he was horrible...this week he was better but still not great if you know what i mean...wouldn't be surprised if he went, wouldn't be surprised if he stayed. i'm still waiting for him to blow me away
joseph murena - "music of my heart" - by far the best vocally of the night...i suspect a standing ovation from the judges...so much better than last week...when he first started (literally the first second...not after) i got a little worried but soon his performance reminded me of latoya's initial performance and how she wowed everyone...he owned this song, made it his own, and found away to belt out nsync...he will probably gain a lot more fans after this performance
I can't wait for tonight! Go Joe!
